Three things to check before you offer.
Flood zone
For a low-lying address near the bay or a creek, ask whether it is in a flood zone and what flood insurance would cost.
Fire hazard zone
For a hillside address, ask which fire hazard zone it is in and whether insurers are writing policies there.
Association dues and rules
Where there is a homeowners association, ask for its dues, reserves and rules before you offer.
