You can expect REALTOR® Luis Nanez to break communication barriers, explain opportunities, and sacrifice what he must in order to achieve your Real Estate dreams.

Luis is someone who has always depended on himself. So it was a natural choice for Luis depended upon himself to buy his first home. However, he didn’t understand the process of what was happening. So deciding to focus on Real Estate as a career came out of a desire to know more – to break communication barriers, figure out opportunities, and most of all, sacrifice what he must to help himself and those he serves to become successful in Real Estate.

Luis understands sacrifice. “I will always have two to three jobs,” he said. A native of Lima, Peru, Luis came to the United States in the eighties. As the youngest sibling, he was the first in his family to leave and it was a tough part for his parents. Arriving in New York City, his first job was washing dishes. From then on for Luis it was more jobs, more responsibility, and more learning. Luis is familiar with juggling jobs, working overtime and balancing school – sometimes all in the same day.

Another reason REALTOR® Luis Nanez became involved in finding and selling homes for families was the knowledge he could be doing something better. “It wasn’t the motivation of making the money, it was trying something else as a person,” he said. “I finally found something that I really enjoy, and than means helping a lot of people. All these years in Real Estate, I never think about how many transactions I’ve made. It is easy to loose focus and your perspective if you do this.”

For Luis, most of his clientele is a Spanish-speaking community. He doesn’t advertise and works through referrals. “There’s the thought ‘If he helped my sister, he can help me’,” said Luis. Luis notes a sense of security is growing for the Spanish-speaking homeowner market, but he does see financial constraints and misinformation as the main barriers for helping Spanish-speaking populations into more homes.

“There is the belief they will never own a home,” said Luis. But Luis welcomes these fears and notes they make him feel challenged in his career. “I explain the process of owning a home so they don’t have misinformation. Many don’t know how to start, so it’s about being educated to know if you can.”
